Terms of Use

Welcanada and Welcanada for Business · Last updated October 27, 2026 (verification and liability sections added; sales tax not charged)

Draft. These terms have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before launch.

These terms apply to the Welcanada app and the Welcanada for Business website, run by Welcanada ("we", "us"). Welcanada is operated from Ontario, Canada. The legal name of the operating company will be added here once its registration is complete. By using the app or the website you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Verify before you do business

Welcanada is a directory. It does not provide, check the quality of, or guarantee any service listed in it. Before you hire anyone, pay a deposit or sign anything, you agree to cross-verify the details yourself:

Any information in a listing (name, licence number, languages, prices, reviews links) comes from the business itself. A "Licence checked" badge only means we saw that number on the official register on the day we reviewed it; it can change after that.

You use the app and deal with any listed business at your own risk. Welcanada is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, injury, fraud, cost or dispute that comes from your dealings with a listed business, from a quote request, from a bank or partner website you visit through the app, or from relying on information in the app.

Part A: Everyone

General information only

Guides, checklists and bank comparisons are general information to help you find your way. They are not legal, immigration, financial or tax advice. Rules, fees and offers change. Always confirm with the official source linked in each guide before you act. In an emergency, call 911.

Businesses in the app are independent

Businesses listed in the app are not our employees or agents. We check that a business gave a licence number where one is required, and a "Licence checked" badge means we found it on the official register when we reviewed it. We do not guarantee any business's work, prices or advice. Any agreement you make is between you and the business. Check licences and fees yourself before you sign anything or pay.

Paid placement and affiliate links

Businesses on the Featured plan pay to be shown first and on the Home screen, and are marked "Featured". Some "Open an account" buttons are affiliate links, which means we may be paid if you open an account. Payments never change the facts in our bank comparisons.

Fair use

Do not send false or abusive quote requests, scrape the app, or try to break its security. We may limit or block use that harms newcomers, businesses or the service.

Part B: Businesses

Your account and listing

Plans and prices

PlanPriceIncludes
BasicFreeListing in your province; newcomers reach you by quote request
Pro$39 CAD per monthYour phone, email, website and Google reviews shown; placed above Basic
Featured$149 CAD per monthEverything in Pro, plus top placement, the Home screen and related guides in your cities, and monthly statistics

Sales taxes are not currently charged. If we start charging GST/HST, we will tell you by email first. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email; the new price applies from your next billing date after the notice period.

Featured spots

There are at most 5 Featured businesses per service in each city. If a city is full you can join the waiting list. Featured placement depends on the cities in your listing; adding a city that is full is not allowed while it is full.

Billing, renewal and cancelling

No guaranteed results

We do not promise any number of views, calls or quote requests.

Part C: Legal

No warranty

The app, its guides and its listings are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that information is complete, current or error-free, or that the app will always be available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Welcanada and its owners, directors, employees and partners are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage, including lost money, deposits, property, income, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the app or from any business, bank or website you find through it. We are not a party to any agreement between a newcomer and a business, and we do not take part in, supervise or settle disputes between them.

If we are found liable despite these terms, our total liability to a newcomer is limited to $100 CAD, and to a business is limited to the fees it paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms removes rights that consumer protection laws say cannot be waived.

Businesses cover claims about their services

A business agrees to defend and compensate Welcanada for any claim, loss or cost caused by its services, its listing information, or its use of newcomers' contact details.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms; we will change the date above and, for material changes, tell businesses by email. You can stop using the app at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
